Let's talk about our plans for the next nine years
Kia koorero taatou moo too taatou mahere moo ngaa tau e iwa e haere ake nei
The Waikato district offers excellent quality of life, supported by a thriving economy, strong community ties, rich cultural heritage, and a unique blend of rural charm and urban convenience.
Waikato District Council plays a key role in maintaining this standard by delivering essential services and infrastructure. Our connected transport networks make it easy to move between towns and villages, while effective water, waste, and recycling management helps protect both people and the environment. Well-maintained parks, libraries, and recreational spaces provide places for families to gather, learn and stay active.
While your Council is dedicated to achieving its vision of creating “liveable, thriving, and connected communities”, we are facing some challenges in the coming years, just like other areas of New Zealand. To keep providing quality services for you and your whaanau (family), we will need to carefully balance costs and rates increases.
Additional information can be found in the document library below, alongside the process for setting our plans.
