Wainui Reserve Stakeholder Engagement
Waikato District Council is commencing the preparation of a 30‑year development plan for Wainui Reserve in Raglan. As part of the initial phase of this project, we are seeking input from the Raglan Community Board, local community groups, and key reserve users.
The workshop held on Friday the 13th of March, and below feedback form are the first part of consultation. A further round of engagement will follow once the draft development plan has been prepared. After this, the draft will be publicly consulted on through the Reserve Management Plan amendment process.
By way of background, the development plan will outline proposed improvements, new features, and infrastructure for the reserve over the next three decades. It will also guide future funding decisions through Council’s Long-Term Plan. As part of this work, a staging plan will be developed to sequence construction in a practical and prioritised manner, based on feasibility and logical groupings of proposed features. The final development plan will be incorporated into the Raglan Coastal Reserve Management Plan (RMP).
We look forward to your participation and valuable input into this important planning process for Wainui Reserve.
Please provide feedback by 29 March 2026. For further questions please get in touch with Reserve.Planning@waidc.govt.nz
