Waikato District Council wants to hear from Raglan residents about what kind of sports facilities they'd like to see in their town in the future.

Raglan has seen a significant boost in population over the last few years with the number of permanent residents increasing by close to 35% in the last 10 years, and there’s more to come.

A healthy and vibrant community needs facilities that can help its people stay active, to enjoy sports and recreation in a safe environment, and enhance the sense of community and belonging. So, it’s important that we support towns like Raglan to keep up with that demand.

There are a number of sports facilities in Raglan where player numbers are booming but also facilities where weather impacts are limiting how viable those locations may be in the future.

Whatever facilities are developed in the future need to match what the community needs, what is practical in the locations available and, of course, long term affordability.

To help Waikato District Council get a clearer picture of what the residents would like for Raglans future sporting options, weve put together an online questionnaire. This gives the coaches, parents, administrators and players of all manner of clubs in the area their chance to share their vision for their sport. New and emerging sports may also shift people’s thinking about what the town will benefit from for the next generations.

To have your say on how we meet Raglan's 2050 sport parks provision please fill in the below form no later than the 20th of April 2025.

Have questions? We will be at the Raglan Rugby Club hosting a drop in session on Thursday the 3rd of April between 4pm and 6pm. Come and see us there!
