Consultation on the proposed amendments to the Keeping of Animals Bylaw 2015 closed at 5pm on Monday 25 January 2021.


If you indicated through your submission that you wanted to speak at the hearing which is scheduled for 24 February 2021, we will be in contact with you shortly to arrange a time for you to speak to the Committee.


The purpose of the Keeping of Animals Bylaw is to prevent or to mitigate any issues related to the keeping of animals on private property in the district that might cause nuisance or health issues.

The bylaw has general provisions for keeping of all animals, as well as special requirements for the keeping of pigs, poultry, bees, and horses.
