Our open spaces provide key benefits to physical and social wellbeing. Whether it's playing on a playground or kicking a ball around, our residents value our open spaces.

Waikato District Council is reviewing our Neighbourhood Park and Sports Park Reserve Management Plans (RMP). In August 2024, we asked the community for their ideas for how we can make their local parks better, what's great and what's not. We considered all suggestions carefully and used your ideas and feedback to develop two draft Reserve Management Plans.

We want to make sure that your thoughts and ideas have been captured in the new draft plans going forward. This is your opportunity to ensure we have captured your views.

What happens next?

Your feedback will be taken as a submission that will be presented to the Infrastructure Sub-Committee to deliberate all feedback. Submitters will be provided an opportunity to speak to their submission at a public hearing. The sub-committee will review all submissions (both written and verbal) and make a series of recommendations for the draft plans. These recommendations will then be incorporated to develop a final Reserve Management Plans for adoption.
